#Nahda_Makers Organization, represented by the Chairwoman / Ms. Faiza Al-Tamimi, participated in Pre SOM Official Meeting chaired by ECHO and Sweden Government.
This meeting, which was held in Jordan - Amman during 24- 25 April, is organized on annual bases to discuss humanitarian updates, key issues and priorities and figure out mechanisms to improve the humanitarian response and emphasis complementary and coordination with development partners.
The NMO led the local-led technical working group, which focused on discussing the role of local actors in leading the humanitarian and development process and its impact on improving quality; as well as key initiatives that need to be supported toward empowered local actors including access to fair and equal partnerships; and good quality participation.
The group presented a number of recommendations to the SOM chairs, with focus on supporting HCT localization strategy implementation, opening regular and direct communication channels between national organizations and donors, make more efforts to strength privet sector engagement and coordination with local authorities on national and sub-national level.
