Under the supervised of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri, and the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Mohammed Hazam Al-Ashwal, the #Nahda_Makers Organization, in partnership with #Oxfam, implemented a workshop on “Social Responsibility” as part of the project (Bridging the Gaps: A Joint effort between government, the private sector, and civil society organizations for local solutions).
This workshop, held as part of efforts to enhance cooperation between the government, the private sector, and civil society organizations, aims to create sustainable community partnerships that contribute to humanitarian response and recovery.
His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor emphasized that this workshop falls within the framework of the government's commitment to strengthening partnerships between civil society organizations and the private sector to support sustainable development efforts. He highlighted the importance of cooperation, exchanging expertise, and overcoming challenges in order to build effective partnerships that serve society.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Salem Al Wali also noted that this workshop represents an important step in strengthening the partnership between the government, the private sector, and civil society organizations, opening new horizons for achieving sustainable economic and social development.
Professor Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Ibrahim, Vice President of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, delivered an opening speech in which he emphasized the importance and role of social responsibility as an effective tool for promoting sustainable development. He emphasized the need for integrated efforts between the public and private sectors and civil society organizations to achieve the desired positive impact in serving the community.
Ms. Faiza Al-Tamimi, President of the #NMO_ORG, emphasized that this workshop reflects the organization's commitment to promoting the concept of effective partnership between various sectors, and working to consolidate social responsibility practices that contribute to achieving sustainable development and better serving society.
During the first session, titled "Humanitarian Action and the Role of the Private Sector in Community Development" participants discussed the importance of integrating social and environmental dimensions into private sector plans and practices, and its role in rehabilitating services and supporting livelihoods. The second session, ": Civil Society and Development – Ten Years of Humanitarian Work and Effective Partnership" focused on exploring areas of cooperation and developing joint coordination mechanisms.
