#NMO_ORG holds the introductory workshop of the project to help communities protect their agricultural assets in the face of challenging climatic conditions and improve their resilience

 #NMO_ORG held the introductory workshop for its new project which is "help communities protect their agricultural assets in the face of difficult climatic conditions and improve their resilience" with the support of #AVAAZ.

This workshop, which was held for the comprehensive introduction of the project to the stakeholders from the relevant government agencies, and the community committees of the targeted areas to inform them of the different components of the project and the general objective of the project and how this project will change the situation of the targeted families for the better.

As the project, which will be implemented in Bayhan / Shabwa, will rehabilitate, and create several agricultural assets as follows:

  • Rehabilitation of about 103 m of the Al-Ra'bi Canal in Wadi Bayhan, which will therefore work as required to deliver water to the agricultural lands in these areas.
  • Establishing 4 walls/defenses to protect agricultural lands in Wadi Al-Khair from the impact of torrential torrents.
  • Construction of 3 walls/defenses to protect agricultural lands in Wadi al-Nahr from the impact of torrential torrents.

Thus, 700 families will benefit from those targeted areas.

The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Planning Office in the governorate, the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, the Director General of the Bayhan District, the Director General of the Agriculture Office in Bayhan, and all members of the community committees and the team of the Nahda Makers Organization.
