Nahda Makers Organization participated in the SOM VII.

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen humanitarian action and sustainable development, Nahda Makers Organization participated in the Seventh High-Level Meeting of Senior Officials on Humanitarian Action (SOM VII), held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, on Wednesday, May 21. The event was organized by the European Union and the Swedish government, with the organization represented by its President, Ms. Faiza Al-Tamimi.

During its participation, the organization emphasized the importance of enhancing joint coordination between development donors and humanitarian donors to help local communities become more resilient and recover, while gradually reducing reliance on emergency aid and moving toward sustainable empowerment.

The organization also stressed the need to support the peace process as a fundamental prerequisite for development and infrastructure projects. It urged donors to move beyond a risk-avoidance approach and instead adopt a shared-risk model that considers national contexts more holistically.

The organization concluded by calling for the formation of a follow-up committee from among the participants to monitor the implementation of the meeting’s outcomes and to strengthen collective efforts toward integrated humanitarian and development goals.
