Funded by the #FCDO and implemented in partnership with the #NRC, #Nahda_Makers carried out the activity “Facilitate market linkages through market forums and trade fairs” by organizing a local products bazaar in Jabal Habashi District, Taiz Governorate, with the aim of supporting 426 beneficiaries who own small businesses in the agricultural, livestock, and handicraft sectors, this was in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Jabal Habashi Directorate.
The bazaar witnessed wide participation from small business owners across various sectors, including fresh agricultural products, as well as products such as footwear, cosmetics, tailoring services, in addition to livestock producers who showcased products such as cheese, honey, ghee, and other local goods.
The event stood out as a genuine commercial platform for displaying and selling products and services, providing participants with the opportunity to shop, interact with visitors, and expand their sales networks by building relationships with new distributors and retail traders.
This event aimed to empower beneficiaries to promote their products, expand their business networks, and establish new partnerships with local markets, thereby enhancing opportunities for business growth and sustainability.
The organization supported participants through training and by providing grants and essential tools needed to launch their own businesses, making the bazaar a practical outcome of economic empowerment and a real opportunity to benefit from training and grants by marketing products, improving incomes, and linking beneficiaries to the local market.
This activity comes as part of ongoing efforts to support livelihoods and enhance economic development in targeted communities through market forums and trade fairs, enabling beneficiaries to build effective partnerships, expand their commercial opportunities, and strengthen business growth.
The bazaar witnessed wide attendance, most notably by Mr. Ahmed Abdulmalik, Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries; Mr. Abdu Hamid, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries; as well as representatives of NRC, the Planning and International Cooperation Office, the Governorate’s Agriculture Office, the Social Affairs and Labor Office, in addition to representatives of the District Administration and the Nahda Makers team.
It is worth noting that this activity is implemented under the project Building Resilience through integrated community-based and humanitarian systems transformation and leadership in Yemen (BRIGHTLY).
