Under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Mr. Tariq Salem Al-Akbari, and H.E. the Minister of State and Governor of the Capital Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas Ministry of Education in collaboration with #NMO, and funded by #CRS, is implementing within the “Rebuilding Early Childhood Education in Yemen Project” Launch Event for the Early Childhood Education Curriculum, Frameworks, and Guides.
This project is considered one of the key qualitative initiatives, targeting 14 kindergartens across the various districts of Aden Governorate. It focused on children in the early age group (3–6 years), as well as teachers working in kindergartens. The project primarily aimed to develop the reference framework for kindergarten curricula through joint efforts by a curriculum development team and consultants nominated by the Ministry of Education, with the goal of producing a modern, integrated curriculum that meets the needs of young children and adheres to approved educational standards.
Project activities were implemented through sequential phases over nearly a full year, including the preparation of training manuals for teachers and supervisors, the implementation of a field piloting phase for the curriculum, the printing and distribution of kindergarten textbooks, and preparations to provide educational tools and games that support classroom activities within kindergartens.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Aden Governorate Education Office, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Social Affairs Office, a number of leaders, directors and supervisors of the targeted kindergartens, partners, and stakeholders interested in the early childhood sector, in addition to representatives from #CRS and #Nahda_Makers Organization. During the event, the official launch of the kindergarten curriculum as an approved curriculum by the Ministry of Education was announced, key outputs of the Rebuilding Early Childhood Education Project were presented, the importance of strengthening partnerships between the Ministry and implementing and supporting entities was emphasized, and investment in early education was highlighted as a fundamental entry point for human development and community growth.
This project is regarded as one of the most prominent initiatives implemented by Nahda Makers Organization in the fields of education and child protection, due to its direct and sustainable impact on improving the quality of early childhood education and enhancing a safe and supportive learning environment for children.
