#Nahda_Makers conducts Father Mother Councils Training in Taiz and Hodeidah

As part of the Displacement and Climate-induced Emergency Response Project in Yemen, Nahda Makers Organization (#NMO), with funding from Education Cannot Wait (#ECW) and in partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council (#NRC), implemented the activity of “Father Mother Councils Training” in selected schools located in Taiz and Al-Hodeidah governorates, with the participation of 64 beneficiaries.

The training included interactive and informative sessions aimed at clarifying the concept of the Parent-Teacher Council, its roles, responsibilities, and mechanisms of operation, as well as its vital role in supporting educational programs and monitoring students’ academic progress. The sessions also featured presentations and group discussions that focused on strengthening communication between families and schools and exchanging experiences on how to improve the educational environment and address behavioral and academic challenges in schools.

The activity aimed to build the capacities of Parent-Teacher Council members and enhance their role in supporting the educational process by promoting partnerships between schools, families, and the local community, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and students’ performance.

The next step in the project will also include training volunteer teachers in the targeted schools and distributing school bags to students in remedial classes, in support of ensuring the continuity of education for children affected by displacement and climate change.
