#Nahda_Makers is implemented a food-for-training activity as part of #FuTuRe project

As part of the Food Security and Livelihoods Program and the project “Food to Resilience” in Hadhramout Governorate, the organization implemented one of the key project activities: the “Food for Training” initiative. This was funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (#KSRelief) and in partnership with the World Food Programme (#WFP) across several districts of the governorate, including Seiyun, Shibam, Al-Qatn, Wadi Al-Ain, Daw’an, and Rakhyah.

The activity aimed to empower individuals by equipping trainees with the skills necessary to start or develop their own projects, thereby achieving self-reliance and reducing dependence on direct aid.

The training benefited 180 participants across various fields tailored to labor market needs, including:

• Solar energy system installation and maintenance
• Food industries
• Refrigeration and air conditioning
• Pastry making
• Hairdressing and beauty care
• Beekeeping
• Sewing and embroidery

The training spanned 90 days, including 40 days of theoretical vocational training in each specialization, followed by 5 days of entrepreneurship training, and 45 days of practical application within institutions and workshops, allowing trainees to gain direct hands-on experience.

Additionally, specialized tools were provided to each trainee according to their field, enhancing their learning and preparing them to start their own projects after completing the program.

Overall, the activity aimed to equip trainees with the skills and knowledge needed to start or grow small-scale businesses, thereby fostering self-reliance and strengthening the economic resilience of families and local communities.
