Within the Food Security and Livelihoods Sector, Nahda Makers Organization (#NMO) has implemented the establishment of 15 net greenhouses across several districts in Hadramout Governorate. This activity comes as part of the “Food to Resilience” #FuTuRe project, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (#KSrelief) and in partnership with the World Food Programme (#WFP).
The activity covered the districts of Seiyun, Shibam, Al-Qatn, Wadi Al-Ain, Doan, and Rakhyah, with the aim of providing a suitable environment for cultivating productive crops and seedlings, thereby increasing agricultural productivity and enhancing crop protection against pests.
These net greenhouses also represent a complementary component of the agricultural reclamation efforts. A total of 15 farmers will directly benefit from the activity, while the number of indirect beneficiaries is expected to exceed 961 farmers, including current and former farmers, and more than 1,000 former farmers, as well as members of agricultural associations and agricultural offices in the targeted areas.
This intervention reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthening farmers’ capacities and promoting sustainable agricultural development that contributes to improved livelihoods and enhanced food security in the targeted areas.
