#Nahda_Makers Participates in a Panel Discussion on Enhancing Climate Resilience in the MENA Region

As part of efforts to address the impacts of climate change, the World Bank organized a session titled "Building Climate Resilience in the MENA Region – From High-Level Recommendations to Actions on the Ground."

The session, in which the #Nahda_Makers organization participated, represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Mohammed Al-Sayed, focused on providing comprehensive insights from the Country Climate and Development Reports (CCDRs) for eight different countries in the region. Experiences from Iraq, Jordan, and Yemen were also showcased.

The session addressed the key findings of these reports, highlighting the impact of climate change on development with a focus on major challenges such as water scarcity and the increasing risks of drought.

It also explored innovative mechanisms to promote climate action at the community level and featured contributions from government representatives and civil society to showcase recent initiatives aimed at enhancing climate resilience and mitigating the effects of water scarcity.

The event included interactive discussions that emphasized translating recommendations into tangible projects, helping build communities better equipped to face the impacts of climate change.

These efforts aim to create a platform for mutual learning and idea exchange, with a focus on fostering partnerships that support sustainable development and adaptation to the growing climate challenges in the region.
