Funded by #CRS and coordination with the Ministry of Education, #NMO has launched its new project in the field of education and child protection: the Rebuilding Early Childhood Education in Yemen project.
The project, to be implemented in #Aden, targets 14 kindergartens across all districts. It aims to reach kindergartens, children in the early age group (3-6 years), as well as kindergarten teachers.
The project will undertake several activities aimed at improving the quality of education in kindergartens, including:
- Developing a reference framework for kindergarten curricula.
- Training educational teams on the new curricula.
- Conducting field assessments in kindergartens to identify needs.
- Developing educational tools for KG1, KG2, and KG3 stages.
- Organizing training workshops for teachers.
- Providing technical support to schools for the implementation of the new curricula.
The project aims to achieve expected outcomes, including the development and application of an early childhood education framework in public schools in Aden.
The project was launched through an inception workshop that brought together key stakeholders. The workshop provided an overview of the project's objectives, key phases, and the importance of developing kindergarten curricula in line with international standards. It also showcased the tools used in the assessment survey to determine the needs of children and teachers in kindergartens.
The inception workshop witnessed the participation of key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Education Office in Aden Governorate, the Center for Research and Consultation, the Faculty of Education at the University of Aden, the Social Affairs Administration, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, and a representative from the Governor’s Office in Aden’s education sector, along with the #NMO team, represented by the executive director and project team.
