#Nahda_Makers Organization implements non-formal education activities within the project to support out-of-school children

Within the project Supporting the out of school children (OOSC) through innovative and integrated programming in child protection and education to increase access to Formal Education, with the support of #UNICEF and funding from the #European_Union, #Nahda_Makers Organization implemented the project's non-formal education activities, which targeted Al-Khokha District in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.

These activities targeted 2,393 students and targeted 336 teachers, facilitators, social workers, supervisors and focal points, as they worked to implement various programs that help children return to education, which will consequently increase the opportunities for the most vulnerable children to have equitable access to basic education and access to prevention and protection services, as well as enhance the capacity of child protection service providers to provide basic services to children and their communities.

The activities that were implemented are as follows:

  • Provide children with accelerated learning program (ALP).
  • Provide children with Basic Literacy and Numeracy (BLN).
  • Construct latrine units, gender-sensitive and disability-compliant.
  • Number of persons receiving training in school safe protocol.
  • Construct classrooms TLC.
  • Construct classrooms.
  • Provide children with school bags and stationeries.
  • distributed non-formal education books.
  • Provide students with recreational kits.
  • Classes Cleaning Materials.
  • Latrines Cleaning Materials.
  • Provide boards classroom and Learning Tools.
  • Provide incentives for teachers/para personnel/volunteers per month.
  • Teachers Capacity Development for ALP, BLN, ASER, TiCC.
  • Awareness about the importance of education and about available education opportunities.
  • Psychosocial support and Mine Risk Education (MRE).
  • Psychosocial Social support & Safe Spaces.

All of this is a necessary solution for children in unstable environments, as it contributes to providing flexible and sustainable educational opportunities, which helps build a better future for children and the communities in which they live and in unstable conditions.
