Under the Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen - SIERY, which is funded by the European Union, and Implemented by the UNDP, through Nahda Makers, in coordination with the Ministry of Local Authority, the first Training of Trainers for the Districts Facilitation Teams in Aden is held.
This component , which is part of the Local Governance and capacity building, aims at enhancing the capacities of the Local Authorities and institutional resilience of local governance in Yemen, and empowering local authorities to effectively and efficiently provide critical services, which will enhance institutional resilience and improve (basic) service delivery. it will consider the role that Local Authorities can play in the stability, recovery, and peace in 24 districts in (Aden, Lahj, Marib, Hadramout and Taiz governorates). The objectives of this component are as follows:
Training of Trainers for the Districts Facilitation Teams on the Public Expenditures Management, Participatory Planning, and Budget Preparation, which is one of the key activities under this component, was commenced today in Aden. The training will continue for 5 dayes.
Total of 10 trainees were targeted from managers and representatives of the executive offices in the governorate (MoPIC - Finance - Water Corporation - Hygiene - Public works - Electricity - Environment), which aims at enhancing the their capacities and skills on training, planning, and budget preparation., in coordination with the representatives of the Ministry of Local Administration: Mr. Awad Mashbah , the Director General of the Office of Planning and International Cooperation, Aden/ Ms. Intisar Murshid, the Deputy Governor for Development and Projects Affairs/Mr.Adnan Al-Kaf, and in the presence of the Nahda Makers Organization project team.
