#NMO_ORG concludes the Education Support for IDPs project

#NMO_ORG has concluded one of its most prominent projects in the education sector and child protection, which is the Education Support for IDPs project in Al-Khawkhah and Al-Tuhayat funded by #YHF.

This project, which focused mainly on targeting displaced children of school age in conflict areas, implemented many different activities, the most prominent of which was construction 24 of temporary learning classrooms (TLCs) in 8 schools in these areas and rehabilitating them and including water and sanitation facilities.

In addition, this project, which will benefit 4000 students and 80 teachers, has implemented many other different activities as follows:

  • Provision of other essential school furniture for the TLCs hosting schools.
  • Distribution of school bags.
  • Distributing teachers' kits.
  • Distribution of recreational Kits and first aid kits.
  • Implementation of open day activity.
  • Training program of psychosocial support (PSS) for teachers.
  • Support and establishment of Parent Teachers Associations.
  • Implementing back to school campaign to motivate students to continue education.

All this aims to ensure that schools remain open to support the continued enrollment of boys and girls of school age.

In fact, the organization is working on other major programs and sectors which are: shelter - food security and livelihood - Wash Sanitation and hygiene - Governance and Skill-building sector and all of which aim to empower society through humanitarian response and development programs.
