( Nahda Makers) participate in the Geneva donors conference

 

Executive Director Mohamed El Sayed represented Nahda Makers Organization, participated in the Geneva Donors Conference, organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

FAO's participation in the conference was part of its humanitarian and relief activities with international, regional and local organizations and donors.

 

The conference aims to discuss Yemen's humanitarian response plan for 2017. According to UN reports, Yemen needs more than $ 2 billion to save the population from the famine threat, especially with some two million children out of school. Many have joined fighting.

The conference aims to raise $ 2.1 billion in 2017, half of the amount was collected during the conference, according to pledges from some countries numbers, like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Germany.
