Furthermore, residents face significant difficulties in accessing basic services, including healthcare, education, and clean water, exacerbating their daily struggles and severely affecting their quality of life.

Lotfi Saleh Karama Awadh Maqsham, a thirty seven teacher from Al-Aneen village in Al - Qatn district of Hadhramaut Governorate, lives with his family of six members ,  Lotfi has spent most of his life working as a teacher in one of the schools in the area . Like many of his fellow teachers , he faces challenging living conditions imposed by the ongoing conflict and the deteriorating situation in the country. Reflecting on his struggles, Lotfi says: "Due to the sharp rise in the prices of food and essential commodities, along with a salary that doesn’t meet our needs, I’ve repeatedly thought about finding a profession to supplement my income." His words highlight the harsh reality faced by teachers, as the collapse of the local currency and soaring prices have rendered their salaries inadequate to meet their families' basic needs.

Lotfi was one of the beneficiaries of the food assistance provided in exchange for training as part of the "From Food to Resilience" project. The project was funded by  the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation, in partnership with the World Food Programme and implemented by the Nahda Makers Organization. The project is carried out in four districts of Wadi Hadhramaut: Al-Qatn, Sayun, Shibam, and Wadi Al Ain and Hura.

At the end of our conversation with Lotfi, he expressed his gratitude, saying: "Many thanks to the donors, the Nahda Makers Organization, and everyone involved in this wonderful project and all the efforts made for it."
