As part of the “Life-changing Interventions for Females to Thrivein” in Taiz Governorate, funded by the #European_Union and implemented in partnership with #ZOA, Nahda Makers (#NMO) supervised Joodan Organization for Development and Peace and Seyaq Youth and Development Organization in conducting a community consultation workshop with community representatives entitled, "The Role of Protection Programs in Promoting Economic Empowerment and Their Impact on the Reality of Entrepreneurial Projects for Women and Persons with Disabilities".
The workshop brought together 25 participants, including 22 women and 3 men, representing local communities from the targeted districts, alongside representatives from Joodan Organization for Development and Peace and Seyaq Youth and Development Organization.
The workshop aimed to discuss the role of protection programs and psychosocial support in strengthening the economic empowerment of women and persons with disabilities by reviewing key challenges and needs, exchanging experiences, and identifying practical solutions that contribute to the success and sustainability of entrepreneurial initiatives. It also featured interactive discussion sessions to enhance participants' understanding of their role in advocating women's rights and contributing to the development of a more just and inclusive society.
Furthermore, the workshop sought to strengthen participants' understanding of the role of protection programs in supporting economic empowerment and to highlight the importance of psychosocial support in enabling women and persons with disabilities to establish and manage sustainable entrepreneurial projects. It also promoted dialogue and coordination among relevant stakeholders and civil society organizations to improve protection and economic empowerment services.
The workshop concluded with the development of a set of advocacy messages and practical recommendations aimed at improving protection programs and enhancing the success and sustainability of entrepreneurial projects in line with the needs and context of local communities.
