Nahda Makers continues the activities of the ““the Integrated Water Resources Management to Enhance Resilience of Agriculture and Food Security Project” project

The activities of the ““the Integrated Water Resources Management to Enhance Resilience of Agriculture and Food Security Project” project continue in Al-Silw and Al-Mawasit districts, Taiz governorate, funded by #KfW, implemented by #UNDP, and in cooperation with #Nahda_Makers, with the aim of supporting sustainable development efforts and enhancing the resilience of agricultural communities.

As part of the project’s activities, several trainings were recently conducted in the targeted districts on “Administrative and Conflict resolution skills”, benefiting 51 participants from Water User Associations in Al-Mawasit and Al-Silw districts.

These trainings aim to strengthen participants’ administrative and organizational capacities, and to enhance their skills in conflict resolution, negotiation, and constructive communication among relevant stakeholders to ensure sustainable water resources management. They also seek to promote governance and capacity building by activating the principles of good water governance through strengthening the institutional and technical capacities of the National Water Resources Authority, offices of Agriculture and Irrigation, and Water User Associations/Committees in the targeted areas.

Furthermore, the activities aim to promote community ownership and accountability in operation and maintenance, improve water resource monitoring mechanisms, and expand women’s participation in water management to ensure sustainability and effective, inclusive governance of water resources.

It is worth noting that this project comes as part of broader efforts to enhance the resilience of agricultural systems and food security in rural communities through an approach that focuses on integrated water resources management and sustainability support.
