Within the governance and capacity building sector and as part of its ongoing efforts to support women's rights and enhance their role in society, the #NMO_ORG is currently implementing one of its most prominent projects, the " Life-changing Interventions for Females to Thrive " project in #Taiz (Al-Qahirah, Al-Mudhaffar, and Sala districts), with funding from the #European_Union and in partnership with #ZOA.
This project, which is being implemented, generally aims to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations, providing them with the capacity and knowledge necessary to implement activities that support the rights of women and girls within the context of economic empowerment, awareness-raising, and advocacy. Activities include community consultations, conferences to promote women's rights, awareness-raising, the operation of safe spaces, the distribution of business grants, market assessments, and business and technical skills training for women and girls, as well as training and mentoring for new business owners.
The organization has implemented many different activities so far, including:
1. Holding an introductory workshop about the project with 20 local organizations to present its objectives and implementation mechanisms.
2. Organizing community consultation workshops with local community representatives titled "Women Making an Impact," with the participation of 21 local community representatives.
3. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the capacities of target organizations to identify institutional gaps and develop specialized training plans in financial management, program management, and monitoring and evaluation.
4. Enhance coordination and communication among civil society organizations, facilitating the exchange of expertise and experiences.
5. Conducting a needs assessment for the Women's Empowerment Center's Safe Space (Safe Space), prioritizing support such as a solar energy system, a water tank, and sewing and hairdressing tools.
6. Organizing a workshop on digital safety and protecting women and girls from cyber violence, with 25 participants.
7. Conducting awareness-raising activities to raise awareness of the importance of education and encourage girls to enroll in education.
The project targets:
1. Civil society organizations (20 local organizations selected to implement project activities).
2. Women and girls.
3. Community representatives and leaders.
4. Safe spaces (women and girls' empowerment center).
The project seeks to achieve two main outcomes:
1. Increase the capacity of civil society organizations to protect and promote the rights of women and girls.
2. Enhance the protection and empowerment of women and girls to participate in various aspects of social, economic, civil, and cultural life.
Once these outcomes are achieved, the immediate impact will be to promote the rights of women and girls in Yemen and their inclusion at all levels of society through an approach based on gender equality and human rights.
