Funded by the #ECHO and in partnership with #Cordaid, #Nahda _Makers in Taiz Governorate implemented a Kick-off workshop in cooperation with local authorities and community communities, to launch the project "Addressing the basic and emergency livelihoods needs of food insecure IDP and Host community households in Taiz governorate.
This project, which will be implemented in Taiz Governorate, aims to improve the living conditions of displaced families and host communities in the poorest areas of Mawza and Al Ma’afer districts, which face severe challenges due to food insecurity.
The workshop aims to familiarize local authorities with the project objectives and facilitate coordination with the local authority, which will contribute to the efficient implementation of project activities. The project seeks to address the critical challenges of food insecurity and limited livelihood opportunities for people by facilitating vocational training to enhance livelihoods and provide trainees with the skills required to enter the labor market.
The project’s most prominent activities include conducting a market assessment to determine skills needs, providing vocational and life skills training to 400 beneficiaries, distributing financial grants and linking beneficiaries to sustainable employment opportunities.
The workshop was attended by the Director General of the Social Affairs Office, the Director General of the Agriculture Office, the Director of the Executive Unit Office in the Governorate, the Deputy Director General of Technical Education and Vocational Training, the Head of Businesswomen in the Chamber of Commerce, the Director General of Mawza’ District, the Director General of Al-Ma’afer District, in addition to the Nahda Makers Organization team represented by the project team.
