With the support of #UNICEF and funding from #European_Union , #Nahda_Makers organization continues to implement the project (Supporting the out of school children (OOSC) through innovative and integrated programming in child protection and education to increase access to Formal Education in Al Khawkha District, in coordination with the local authorities and the Ministry of Education.
This project, which is currently being implemented, targets 2,500 students, in addition to 100 volunteer teachers, 75 employees for temporary educational classrooms, and 56 facilitators, social workers, supervisors, and contact points.
The project will increase opportunities for the most vulnerable children to have equitable access to basic education and to access prevention and protection services, as well as to enhance the capacity of child protection service providers to offer essential services to children and their communities.
The project has implemented many different activities, such as supporting alternative learning pathways, supporting professional development, supporting crisis contexts, establishing temporary learning classrooms, providing student and teacher with kits, providing incentives for volunteer teachers, creating and activating community education committees, referral and integration into the formal education system, and raising awareness for psychosocial support and mine risk awareness.
It is noteworthy that the organization is continuing its activities and projects in the education and child protection sector, which aim to facilitate the educational process and bring back students who were unable to continue studying and support them in doing so.
