Within the education and child protection sector, and with funding from #YHF, #Nahda_makers organization recently concluded Education support for IDPs project in Lahj “Al-Musaimir and Al-Hodeidah” Al-Khokha, in coordination with the education offices in the governorates of Lahj and Al-Hodeidah.
This project, which was implemented, targeted the displaced students in those areas, with (1,591 students and 86 teachers) in Lahj Governorate "Al-Musaimir", and it also targeted (2,932 students and 124 teachers) in AL-Hodeidah Governorate "Al-Khokha".
The project has implemented many different activities, namely:
- WASH and school facilities rehabilitated of Khalid Ibn Al-Walid and Ibn Sina schools in Al-Musaimir District, Lahj Governorate
- Schools’ Desks Provision.
- Teacher kits distribution.
- Student kits distribution.
- Provision of unpaid teachers’ incentives.
- PTAs established and trained.
- Hygiene Awareness Sessions.
- Back to School Campaign.
- Teachers trained in Crisis Contexts.
- Teachers PSS and education in emergencies training.
- Recreational and first-aid kits distribution.
All of this aims to improve the capacity and quality of schools in frontline areas to contain the increasing rates of displacement in Lahj and Al-Hodeidah and to protect school-aged and most vulnerable students from violence by ensuring access to a safe and inclusive learning environment and resilience, as well as preventing the outbreak of communicable diseases in schools by raising awareness of the practices of Cleanliness and fair services.
