Funded by #DRA and in partnership with #Cordaid, and within the framework of food security and livelihood projects, #Nahda_Makers implemented a workshop to launch the Joint Response for Yemen project for the mental health sector in Marib Governorate - Al-Madinah and Al-Wadi districts.
This workshop, which brought together representatives from government agencies and relevant stakeholders, aimed to introduce the project, its objectives, and its beneficiaries. The workshop also aimed to familiarize stakeholders with the project's priorities and implementation mechanisms, enhance effective coordination among humanitarian actors, and discuss potential challenges and ways to overcome them.
The workshop also reviewed the project's activities and general and specific objectives, and offered open discussion sessions for the exchange of views and ideas. This will contribute to strengthening coordination channels among all stakeholders, ensuring smooth project implementation, and identifying potential challenges and mechanisms for addressing them through joint coordination and cooperation.
This part of the project, implemented in #Marib, aims to promote mental health by providing psychological, mental, and social health services, including medical consultations, the provision of doctors, medication, and awareness-raising, through supporting health centers and establishing mobile clinics.
The workshop was attended by a number of government figures and representatives, most notably (the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate for Administrative Affairs, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Bakri - Deputy Director of the Health and Population Office, Marib Governorate, Nasser Abdul-Rabbo Al-Saeedi - Deputy Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps, Khaled Nasser Al-Shajni), in addition to the directors of the Marib City and Valley Directorates, the directors of the health offices in Marib City and Valley Directorates, in addition to representatives from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Doctors of the World, and the project team in the organization).
It's worth noting that this project will be implemented in Ma'rib and Lahj governorates, targeting a total of 7,300 beneficiaries. It aims to raise the level of humanitarian response in crisis-affected areas.
