#NMO_ORG concludes “provide agricultural livelihoods services project in the sorghum and livestock sectors”

#NMO_ORG recently concluded “Provide agricultural livelihoods services project in the sorghum and livestock sectors through using market-based approaches in Hadramout governorate (Yemen)”, funded by Lutheran World Relief Organization #LWR

This project, which was implemented in Tarim and Seiyun districts, worked on the main objective of improving access to and use of sorghum seed, good agricultural practices, harvesting and storage practices for vulnerable farmers and their families in the targeted areas, enhancing access to feed for small animals, asset stability and market sales to farmers.

Where this project targeted 70 farmers in Tarim district and 70 farmers in Seiyun district, and implemented many different activities that helped farmers improve farming and harvesting practices, the most important of which are:

• Distributing corn seeds, concentrated feed, and silage and fodder cubes to farmers.
• Distributing cash transfers over several rounds.
• Distribution of agricultural tools.
• Training farmers on agricultural processes and modern techniques for growing corn.
• Training of farmers and livestock keepers on the use and benefits of vaccinations for animals.
• Distributing vaccinations to sheep in order to increase the immunity of sheep and avoid the spread of diseases.

In fact, this project is among one of the projects implemented by the organization in the food security and livelihoods sector and the organization is still continuing in its permanent plan to implement development projects and humanitarian response projects.
