#NMO_ORG launches “Education Support for IDPs” project

Within its sector in the field of Education and Child Protection, #NMO_ORG launched its new project which is “Education Support for IDPs” in Lahj and Al-Hodeidah, funded by #YHF.

This project, which will be implemented in the governorates of Lahj "Al-Musaimir" and Al-Hodeidah "Al-Khoukha", will implement many activities that will improve the capacity and quality of schools in front-line areas to contain the increasing rates of displacement, the most important of which is the rehabilitation of targeted schools in those areas, including Health facilities, distributing  double school desks and distributing  bags for children and teachers, conducting the necessary training for teachers and volunteers and providing them with incentives, as well as providing specialized programs focusing on children in severely affected areas and implementing back-to-school campaigns, which will help keep schools close to IDP sites able to operate assimilating them and will contribute to enhancing the dignity of displaced families living in emergency and hosting sites and their access to educational services.

Earlier, #NMO_ORG implemented its first activities related to this project, which is the introductory workshop for the "startup meeting for the project and introducing its various activities to the community and local authorities" in those targeted areas. 

Recently, the organization, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, planning offices and international cooperation and the concerned authorities, also carried out the activity of the "training session for 20 trainees in Al-Mesaimeer for community supervisors, volunteers and mobilizers on hygiene messages in the field of public and personal hygiene" as part of the back-to-school campaign in order to reduce students' drop-out from schools as well as to raise health awareness among the people to limit the spread of epidemic diseases, which aims to rehabilitate the trainees to be able to implement health awareness in the areas that have been intervened.

It is noteworthy that the organization is working continuously to implement this type of projects, which fall within its sector in the field of "education and child protection", believing in the importance of education and providing the appropriate environment for that, which will help improve the quality of education in the targeted areas and improve the chances of children's enrollment in it.
