Within the project “Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen (SIERY)”, the United Nations Development Program #UNDP, in cooperation with #NMO_ORG , with funding from the #European_Union , and in coordination with Ministry of Local Administration, implemented women affairs institutional support in ministry, governorates, districts.
This training targets 55 women from the women’s departments in the Ministry of Local Administration, women’s departments at the governorate level, representatives from the National Committee for Women, and representatives from the Yemeni Women’s Union in 5 governorates (Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Hadhramaut, and Marib).
This training will also discuss the 2024 plan, unify efforts, raise awareness in the local government system, and strengthen cooperation frameworks between women’s development departments, all with the aim of strengthening the cooperation framework between women’s departments (the ministry to the governorate and the governorate to the directorates).
It will also work to ensure that 55 women receive full knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of each level, and to strengthen the framework of cooperation between women’s departments and women’s entities.
Among the most prominent attendees were Mr. Awad Mashbah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Administration, who stressed the importance of such trainings that serve women in the practical aspect, Ms. Fatima Saifan, Director General of Women’s Administration Development, and Mr. Mustafa, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Administration. Also present from the #UNDP team. Mr. Bassem Al-Saghir, the national coordinator of the #SIERY Project, confirmed the presence of the program during the coming period to evaluate these plans, in addition to the #SIERY Project team in the #NMO , which was present during the meeting.
