Within the Food Security and Livelihoods Sector, #Nahda_Makers organization launched its new project, which is “Provide agricultural livelihoods services in the sorghum and livestock sectors through using market-based approaches in Hadramout governorate (Yemen)”, funded by the #LWR
This project, which will be implemented in Hadhramaut Governorate "Sayun and Tarim District", will mainly target farmers working in those areas. The project will target 140 families, with 980 individuals, through the implementation of many different activities.
During the launching, which was held in Hadhramaut governorate, through the coordination workshop, the project team of the organization introduced the project activities and informed the local authority, community committees and agricultural directors in the districts, preserving the most important objectives and activities of the project and what will be implemented during the coming period.
Where the project will mainly distribute corn seeds, concentrated feed, fodder and salt cubes to farmers, cash transfers and agricultural tools will be distributed to them and vaccinations for sheep.
Farmers will also be trained in agricultural processes and modern techniques for growing maize, and livestock breeders will be trained on how to use and benefits of vaccines for animals.
All of this will aim to improve access to and use of sorghum seed, good agricultural, harvesting and storage practices for vulnerable and marginalized farmers and their families in targeted areas and to enhance access to feed for small animals, asset stability and market sales for vulnerable and marginalized farmers.
In fact, the organization works on many different sectors and continues its plan through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs through the implementation of projects that work on that.
