NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 284. Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships. NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012, and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education and child protection, WASH, Shelter, and Governance and skill-building.
NMO is looking for an efficient and qualified person to fill the position of Field Project Assistant to carry out the following tasks and responsibilities:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1- Adherence to the policies and procedures of Nahda Makers Organization.
2- Participation in coordinating with the relevant local authorities, communities, suppliers and target beneficiaries in the target area to conduct the project components and activities efficiently.
3- Working on developing plans to implement activities, discussing them with the project officer, supervising, and implementing the activities in the target communities and geographical areas for the specific target beneficiaries.
4- Overseeing beneficiary identification, registration and verification process to ensure the correct procedures are followed based on guidelines and procedures given by the FSL Project Officer and relevant documentation is completed in identified geographical areas.
5- Ensuring basic information on target beneficiaries is collected and recorded and shared with senior officer in a timely manner.
6- Implementing the appropriate action plan for distributing FSL inputs to target beneficiaries, with support from FSL Project Manager and FSL Project officer.
7- Maintaining clear and up to date records of project beneficiaries and activities (beneficiary numbers, locations, contact details, activity progress) including the regular visits to target beneficiaries with other field team members in collaboration with local authorities.
8- Identifying potential problems in the FSL project implementation in the field and discussing suggested solutions with local authorities and/or reporting to the FSL Officer in a timely manner and taking appropriate action with support from FSL Project officer.
9- Immediately reporting any challenges or activity implementation delays to the FSL Officer
10- Improving learning and providing guidance related to activities for community volunteers and working as a mentor and modified the community participation.
11- Acting as a liaison between communities and the NMO office; maintain good relationships with beneficiaries and local leaders/authorities; and report any identified issues to the FSL Project officer
12- Helping the MEAL team in monitoring and evaluating the assigned activities in the field
13- Working collaboratively with the project SN officer and team to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness
14- Collecting data, sorting, filing and sending out project files such as reports on field project activities and field needs for beneficiaries on a regular basis (weekly, monthly) to the FSL Project officer.
15- Coordinating travel needs, schedules and meetings in the field
16- Do all field reports and complete all the standard distribution, awareness and training forms then submit them to the supervisor.
17- Helping to prepare FSL project reports and data in coordination with Project Officer and Senior Officer and the M&E Officer to the Program Manager.
18- Compliance with the systems, procedures, principles and institutional values of the organization.
19- Perform other duties as required of the direct supervisor and related to his job position.
20- Participate in preparing plans for field and office needs of the requirements for project implementation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Qualifications: Bachelor in General such as (Economics, Business Administration, Education, Accounting, Agriculture…etc.).
Experience:
• At least one year of experience related to managing, organizing and coordinating of awareness campaigns, distributions and trainings of similar projects.
• Very familiar with fieldwork
• Have the experience of working in emergencies & under pressure & generate reports after each activity implementation.
Skills:
• Strong task management skills including attention to detail to achieve timeliness and required quality.
• Knowledge of office systems, including experience with computer application (e.g. Word, Excel, E-mail).
• Good English interpersonal skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work independently, problem-solving and make decisions skills.
• Strong Community Mobilization skills.
• Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
• Ability to effectively represent the organization and its program at field level.
• Ability to write reports.
• High skills in communication, persuasion and presentation.
