Job Title: Agricultural consultant

supervised by : Project officer

Duration: 5 months, extendable as needed
Contract type: Service contract

Location : Based in Aden (with Frequent field visits  according to Project needs in  Lahj governorate ( Radfan district ) Shabwa Governorate ( Behan district )

NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 284. Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships. NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012, and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education, WASH, Shelter, and Governance and skill-building.

Tasks and responsibilities:

1- Participation to specify suitable agricultural corps for the target areas with the agricultural offices of the target districts

2- Ensuring seeds are safe and consistent with proper specifications for the distribution environment in target areas

3- Approval and receipt of agricultural crops by suppliers in distribution areas in coordination with managers of agricultural offices

4- Preparing reports, receive and match agricultural crops 

5- Preparing the learning materials for the project with ( brochures, posters , pictures , and training materials )

6- A workshop of guidance for agricultural trainers in ( Radfan & Behan ) on all agricultural topics to be sensitized to the farmers 

7- Participation in selection process of agricultural guiders in two districts ( Behan & Radfan )

8- Participation in the supervision of agricultural guiders and training the targeted farmers

9- Designing the farmers' awareness reporting model and participating in following reports by agricultural guiders in ( Radfan & Behan ) 

10- Visiting fields to present advice and recommendation for the farmers

11- Following farmers in growing crops and raise farmers' challenges 

12- Participation in motivating farmers to cultivate 

13- Perform any other tasks required by the project officer 

Qualifications and Experiences:

Nahda makers organization is seeking to hire an experienced consultant to bring the following services:

1- A bachelor degree of agricultural crops

2- Previous experience in the provision of advisory services in agriculture 

3- Similar experience in preparing training programs in agricultural mentorship 

Skills and Competencies:

1- Ability to communicate and manage discussion session 

2- Ability to prepare reports

3- Ability to go down the field and work under pressure 

4- Ability to present ideas and proposal for correcting the course of project implementation 

5- The ability to plan and manage multiple tasks to achieve the commitment to the deadlines and quality required 

Requirements:

• Able to work independently, managing multiple tasks, taking pressures and work overtime

• The applicant's age is between ( 25 – 45 ) years old.
