NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 284. Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships. NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012, and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education and Child Protection , WASH and Health , Shelter and CCCM, and Governance and skill-building

Tasks and Responsibilities

  •  Documenting the organization’s projects and activities (photos - video) in accordance with the media policies followed by the organization and the donors
  •  Processing publishable images using the latest programs in coordination with the communications coordinator, and delivering them to the communications officer (social media)
  •  Make montages of the organization’s activities and projects
  • Producing short visual videos on platforms, making technical modifications to it, and directing it in the optimal way
  •  Prepare and manage the weekly documentation plan in coordination with project managers and photographers
  •  Preparing photographers’ requests with all documents related to financial dues and following up on the disbursement of their dues
  • Arranging the field trip schedule for photographers
  •  Save all photos and videos as the organization’s property, so that they are delivered as a trust to the organization and released
  •  Participate in conceptualizing screenshots of scenarios for stories of suffering or success, or advocacy films and case studies upon request
  •  Filming success stories (photos and videos) and taking beneficiaries’ information
  •  Participate in selecting the appropriate beneficiary to photograph success stories with project teams and develop and implement a vision for its artistic direction
  •  Arranging scenes, lighting, and backgrounds to achieve the goal of the photographic shots
  •  Accompanying photography and montage service providers to prepare a photographic reportage of project activities
  •  Create a photo library that stores all photos
  •  Prepare all required reports and send them to the direct manager
  •  Archiving data, documents, and images according to the organization’s archiving system
  •  Active participation in periodic meetings and meetings in the organization
  • Investing in self-learning opportunities and resources and developing the network of professional relationships in a way that raises specialized competence
  •  Follow occupational safety and health instructions while performing tasks
  •  Submit proposals and perceptions that would raise the level of performance in the organization and inform the relevant persons of any matters that may affect the integrity, impartiality, and reputation of the organization
  •  Compliance with the organization’s institutional systems, procedures, principles and values
  •  Perform other duties related to the job field and as requested by the direct manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Diploma in photography

Practical experience in the field of photography and montage for at least two years

Experience in the field of humanitarian photography work is preferred 

Good understanding of best practices and procedures for taking photos and using and maintaining modern and traditional technical equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, Gamble, accessories, etc.)

The ability to use computer programs (Microsoft Office) and a high level of familiarity with the use of design and editing programs such as

  • Intermediate level in English, spoken and written
