About NMO:

NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012 and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education, child protection, Health, WASH, Shelter, and Governance and Capacity-building.

Project Background:

The project will focus on the dual purpose and interdependence of sorghum as an animal feed crop (forage) and as a human food crop to increase production, harvest, farmers' returns, and best harvesting and storage practices. Respectively, (LWR) will assess the security of the sorghum seed system as Hadramawt farmers have trouble accessing seed to determine the farmers' access to and ability to purchase sorghum seed, if they do not use seed kept at home.

The project will focus on distributing vouchers to beneficiaries, which will enable farmers to purchase vaccines and feed for animals. The project will provide training to farmers on best practices for storing their current crops and forage stocks to prevent deterioration The Ministry of Agriculture will be a key partner in this project as the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture is responsible for administering vaccinations to the livestock. This project will work with the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Ministry of Agriculture to expand outreach and provide vaccines to agricultural traders in the Hadramawt vicinity to shorten the distance farmers must travel to obtain vaccines and other livestock supplies. The project will educate farmers on best feeding practices for small ruminants, as well as good agricultural practices for sorghum production.

Purpose of the job:  

The community mobilizer is providing agricultural livelihood services in the maize and livestock sector through the use of local market-based approaches in Hadhramaut Governorate (LWR) and is responsible for planning, developing, monitoring and evaluating the tasks assigned to the project activities and will identify the responsibilities that are the exercises that are conducted in the field According to the time period of each training and pre-coordination before the implementation of project activities, documentation, archiving and sent to the line manager. As well as supervising the distribution operations for the target groups of the project, periodic follow-up throughout the project implementation period, ensuring that the project is on the right track, achieving the planned goals and indicators, and implementing all related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

NMO is looking for an efficient and qualified person on working of project in Agricultural activity of Maize and Cattle Through using Approach Based on Market in Hadramout (Yemen) to carry out the following Tasks and Responsibilities:                    

  1. Planning:
  • Participating in educating community committees as well as civil society by giving a profile of the project and its objectives and importance to enhance their participation in supporting the objectives of the project.
  • Make frequent field visits to the target sites of the project and report the results of the visits to the direct manager.
  • Participate in distribution and training and facilitate things for the team and plan ahead with the target areas of the project and inform them of the place and date to receive.
  • Contribute to building the capabilities of the field team during their field work through feedback supporting them.
  • Participate to achieve the objectives of the project and set implementation priorities according to the action plan.
  • Planning in advance to complete the activities of the project and implement them according to the action plan periodically.
  • Planning for all the different stages of the project to implement the livelihood project in agriculture.
  • Participating in the follow-up of the project team during distribution in the event of any problems that may hinder the implementation of the project activities and find radical solutions to them in accordance with prior planning.
  1. coordination
  • Coordinate with community committees as well as stakeholders during training as well as during distribution and inform them of the date of implementation of activities.
  • Make sure that some of the target data that arrives from the field is correct.
  • Maintain coordination and closeness between the field team, the community, and partners, and help them.
  • Lead field teams and facilitate their work in implementing the project's action plan.
  • Coordination and communication with active community components of agricultural associations, community committees and farmers in the event of distribution of vouchers, training, or distribution to farmers.
  1. Implementation:
  • Active participation in all project activities (awareness activities, distributions, trainings- coordination’s) as directed by the project officer
  • Supervising the implementation and follow-up of all types of campaigns and sessions, monitoring field work and assisting the field team.
  • Documenting and sharing lessons learned, achievements and successes from the field.
  • Facilitate the project team to work by implementing all the procedures that are to be done in the field before carrying out activities (distributions - exercises)
  • Helping and guiding the project team during distribution or training and activating the work of community committees during the implementation of the project activities.
  • Providing support and support to field teams through the sharing of community committees as well as community interaction by clarifying the objectives of the project to them.
  • Carry out any project-related tasks (office or field) commissioned by the project officer.
  • Participate during the selection of beneficiaries and ensure that they are in accordance with the required standards that comply with the project agreement.
  • Participate in the selection of storage locations for distribution materials, ensure that they are safe and well-courted and follow up the supply process to the target areas.
  • Supervising the performance of fielders and assessing their performance in carrying out all activities and reporting achievement periodically.
  • Active participation by facilitating the process of obtaining targeted data if requested by the data entry team.
  • Periodic follow-up in the event of any problems that may occur in the field, find appropriate solutions, and raise challenges to avoid them and benefit from them in future projects.
  • Report in case of obstruction during project activities.
  1. 4. Protection
  • Make sure that the project team is familiar with safety issues, policies, security procedures, and safety.
  • Monitor the local security situation and inform the security official of developments through regular written reports.
  • Contribute to the modernization of security guidelines in the area of project intervention.

 

  1. Project Management:
  • Responsible for the implementation of project activities in areas to target in accordance with the action plan that is in accordance with the project agreement.
  • Participate in identifying distribution points and warehouses, provided that they are appropriate, safe and easy to access, and communicate with the supplier in the event of materials being supplied.
  • Preparing all distribution requirements from statements and vouchers, and implementation according to the plan sent by the direct manager.
  • Participation in the provision of data to the targets in case they were requested and finding solutions to the challenges that occur in the field and sharing them with the direct manager.

 

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Ensure that project records and documents (reports, action plans, report) are prepared, compiled, and maintained in accordance with NMO procedures.
  • monitor the implementation of the project through monitoring progress through liaison with the monitoring and evaluation team and overseeing progress.
  • Involve the monitoring and evaluation team in all implementations plans for training courses and workshops.
  • Ensure that the project is implemented on time, target, and budget, using effective monitoring and evaluation systems to reach the desired effects.
  • Participation in the monitoring and evaluation of training courses and workshops in the governorates and districts level.
  1. Security:
  • Ensure that the project team is aware of security issues, policies, SOPs, and they follow them accordingly.
  • In cooperation with the relevant Security Officer, monitor the local security situation and inform the Security Officer of developments through regular written reports.
  • Contribute to updating the security guidelines in the project intervention area.
  1. Transparency:
  • Ensure awareness and respect for NMO Code of Conduct and Personnel Policies
  • Ensure aware of and implement the policies and regulations in place (quality and compliance, security and safety, logistics, finance, and information technology) and archive.

  1. Reporting:
  • Commitment to provide regular updates during the implementation of any activity in the field and to raise challenges and how they were resolved.
  • Documenting all project activities (distributions - trainings) implemented in the field and attaching pictures of each activity in the report sent to the direct manager
  • Follow-up of the distribution team, preparing all necessary documents (target statements - vouchers), preserving and archiving them and sending them to the direct manager.
  • Carrying out frequent field visits to the target sites within the project and submitting a detailed report on the results of the visits.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, management, social science, or another related field. 

Experience:

1 years’ experience working in the similar position/job

1 years' experience in a humanitarian sector

Experience working and coordination with governments, UN bodies, INGOs and local NGOs

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong task management skills including attention to detail to achieve timeliness and required quality.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solving and make decisions skills.
  • High skills in coordination, communication, persuasion, and presentation.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • good oral and written English skills with ability to draft and edit program reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Understanding of gender, protection, and human rights.
  • Honest, hardworking, and committed to community development.
