Location: Shabwa – Bayhan district with frequent visit to Aden NMO Office
Contract Duration: 6 months

About the job
The field civil engineer will be responsible for implementing all engineering activities to rehabilitate assets as well as supervising the beneficiaries who are involved in the work, preparing documents for paying dues to workers and submitting reports.
The field civil engineer will be under the direct supervision of the project officer, working to ensure the continuation of the cash-for-work intervention with the highest technical quality, completing activities and preparing reports on time, coordinating with relevant local stakeholders, proactively identifying problems and challenges, and providing solutions in a meaningful manner.
The main duties and responsibilities will be:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
NMO is looking for an efficient and qualified person to fill the position of civil engineer to carry out the following Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Following up the CFW engineering activities and guidelines of the CFW and CFA.
- conducting the technical assessment of Cash for Assists interventions and supervise of rehabilitation.
- preparing the drawing/design/BoQs of all CFW interventions.
- Guide and train the committee and the beneficiaries on how to maintain, operate and manage the project in an effective and sustainable manner.
- Supervision on all rehabilitation the interventions in the target areas.
- Preparing the Weekly and monthly reports for the field activity of CFW and rehabilitation of assets according to the project templates include all the indicators (number of beneficiaries, number, and type of activity etc).
- collaboration in build the Project team members’ capacity ensuring that there are fluent communication channels that the reporting schedule is timely met and that projects objectives are achieved.
- Ensure establishment and maintenance of the relationships with communities, and local government in the target locations.
- coordination and share the information with line manager and MEAL team.
- documenting the project papers according the NMO guide for archive.
- Perform any other work-related activities as agreed with your line management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Qualifications: University degree in (Civil Engineering) or a comparable discipline.
Experience:
- One to two years' experience in engineering that includes a cash-for-assets project (such as road rehabilitation activities, agricultural canals, farmland bumpers), and technical functions of managing a similar project with NGOs or NGOs.
- Solid knowledge of practical operational and procurements procedures and experience maintaining good implementation.
- Have the experience of working in emergencies & under pressure & generate reports after each activity implementation.
