NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 284. Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships. NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012 and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education, WASH, Shelter, and Governance and skill-building.

NMO is looking for an efficient and qualified person to fill the position of Data Management Officer to carry out the following tasks:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in preparing plans (procurement - media - training plans - project plans) and sharing them with the project manager.
  • Coordination with stakeholders to conduct project work.
  • Receiving the data from Shelter Officers after collecting the data of beneficiaries by using KOBO toolbox, arranging them, and making the necessary adjustments.
  • Informing and discussing the Shelter Officers of the errors that are observed in the data so that they can be reviewed and correct the wrong ones and avoid falling into them and not being repeated.
  • Verifying and comparing the beneficiaries list, in order not to have any duplication with the master list.
  • Archiving and storing the entered data and information and preserving them from loss in order to retrieve them when needed to use them, or to obtain information from them.
  • Preparing and arranging the statements of the project and reviewing them to ensure that they are fully fulfilled to start the distribution process.
  • Analyzing data and information and clarifying the percentage of achievement that has been achieved, compared to the goals sought to be achieved in the total period of the program.
  • Creating a database for the project, which includes all the basic information and ensuring the confidentiality and privacy and preserving and securing this project data.
  • Follow up and enter data on the (Activity Info.) of the cluster and donor.
  • Assisting in implementing project activities and following up on field assistants according to the work plan.
  • Work closely with Reporting staff to suggest and develop reporting processes and appropriate formats for project staff, and monitor and ensure accuracy of data collection to meet all quality reporting requirements and support the reporting staff to draft weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reports.
  • Preparing purchase requests and following up on their submission and procedures with the Procurement Department.
  • Attending periodic or emergency meetings with the organizations involved in the same activities and attending the meetings of the shelter cluster.
  • Cooperating with other departments to ensure that all information is tracked according to project needs and donor requirements.
  • Preparing female media content and following up the process of designing and printing them.
  • Archiving, saving and archiving all data and files related to the department according to the system followed in the organization.
  • Actively representing the organization in relevant meetings, events or training.
  • Compliance with NMO policies and procedures regarding codes of conduct, child protection, equal opportunity, security and safety, and other related policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as required by the direct supervisor and related to his job position.

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Computer sciences, or any other relevant subject or any related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in managing the data of beneficiaries for humanitarian projects for distribution of relief items (Shelter items, hygiene kits, food baskets or cash transfer programming) with experience in international and/or local NGO.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, Pivot table in Excel, Power BI and KOBO toolbox.
  • Report writing skills, Proficiency in English (Writing and Speaking).
  • Familiarity with using Smart Tools for Data Collection (KoBo, ODK, etc.);
  • Ability to lead professional teams towards predefined results.
  • Capability to work in different environment based on deadlines.
