Within the framework of following up on humanitarian projects and enhancing services provided to the IDPs and the host community, a high-level delegation from the #UNHCR visited Taiz Governorate, where the visit included a set of activities and meetings aimed at supporting the displaced and the host community and enhancing the services provided to them.
The visit, which included Sala District, Al-Qahira District, Taiz University in Al-Muzaffar District, and Ash-Shamayateen District, included visiting more than one area, including:
- Field visit to the main center of the Civil Registration Authority (CRA) in Sala District in Taiz and meeting with the Director to review the Commission’s support during 2024 and discuss challenges and needs to improve services provided to IDPs and the host community.
- Providing training certificates to trainee engineers in the home rehabilitation project at Taiz University.
- Field visits and meeting with beneficiaries of the house rehabilitation project in Cairo and Sala districts.
- A field visit to the safe space for women and girls at the Al-Nasr site for the IDPs in Ash-Shamayateen District to meet the beneficiaries and review the sewing activity and recreational activities for children held at the site.
This visit comes within the framework of the Commission's efforts to strengthen partnerships with local authorities and meet the needs of the IDPs and the host community in Taiz Governorate, and work to improve services and activities directed to support the most vulnerable groups.
