 NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No 284 Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012 and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors, namely FSL, Education and child protection, WASH and Health, Shelter and CCCM and protection, and Governance and Capacity building 

:Tasks and Responsibilities

Lead the design, planning, and implementation of FSL activities such as Cash for Work, Vocational training, and life skills training in coordination with the project manager, partners, and stakeholders

Conduct assessments to identify food security and livelihood needs, vulnerabilities, and capacities of affected populations

Develop and implement project work plans, ensuring that activities are aligned with project objectives and donor requirements

Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and propose appropriate solutions to ensure timely and effective implementation

Develop and implement effective strategies for identifying and selecting eligible beneficiaries

Conduct assessments and surveys to determine the needs and vulnerabilities of targeted households

Ensure that the selection criteria are fair, transparent, and in line with project objectives

Identify suitable cash-for-work opportunities that contribute to the recovery and resilience of affected communities

Lead, design, plan, supervise, and monitoring of cash-for-work activities, ensuring their timely implementation and desired outcomes

Lead, design, plan, supervise, and monitor vocational training and life skills activities, ensuring their timely implementation and desired outcomes

Provide necessary guidance and support to beneficiaries engaged in cash-for-work initiatives

Provide necessary guidance and support to beneficiaries engaged in vocational training and life skills

Identify capacity-building needs of project staff, partners, and communities and develop and deliver training programs accordingly

Foster effective coordination and collaboration with project partners, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders

Manage project resources, including budgets, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient and effective utilization in line with project objectives

Participate in FSL coordination meetings, working groups, and cluster meetings to ensure harmonization and integration of FSL interventions

Develop and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework for the project

Prepare comprehensive and timely project reports, documenting progress, challenges, and lessons learned Maintain accurate records of project activities, expenditures, and beneficiary data

Regularly monitor project activities to assess progress, identify challenges, and propose corrective measures

Ensure the collection of accurate data and maintain proper documentation of project-related information

Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports on project activities, including achievements, challenges, and recommendations

Ensure timely submission of reports to project management and donors

Comply with donor reporting requirements and guidelines

 

:Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as agriculture, animal science, rural development, or international development with 3 years of experience preferably in NGO sector, or Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience

Proven experience in implementing food security and livelihood programs in humanitarian settings

Familiarity with cash-based interventions and cash-for-work activities

Familiarity with vocational training and life skills activities

Experience in beneficiary targeting and selection processes

Excellent monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills

A solid understanding of food security concepts, livelihood approaches, and sustainable agriculture practices Familiarity with market systems, value chains, and rural development strategies is beneficial

Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse team

Ability to facilitate training sessions and workshops to build the capacity of project staff, community members, and local partners Strong interpersonal skills to transfer knowledge, promote learning, and foster participation

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and challenging environment

Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Office

Fluency in English (spoken and written) Knowledge of local languages is a require
