#Nahda_Makers Holds Consultative Workshop in Seiyun on Analyzing the Participation of Organizations in Humanitarian Mechanisms

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen local humanitarian leadership and empower national organizations, #Nahda_Makers recently conducted a consultative workshop in Seiyun, #Hadramout Governorate. The workshop was implemented under the project “Humanitarian System Transformation through Local Humanitarian Leadership (HST-LHL), funded by the #Ministry_of_Foreign_Affairs_Netherlands and in partnership with #Oxfam.

The workshop targeted local and national organizations working in the humanitarian field, including women-led organizations, and focused on analyzing the reality of their participation in humanitarian coordination mechanisms, as well as reviewing the main challenges they face in leadership and decision-making processes.

Representatives from 44 civil society organizations from Seiyun, Shibam, and Tarim took part in the workshop, where experiences were shared and mechanisms to strengthen local presence in humanitarian action were discussed.

This activity is part of a series of consultative workshops being implemented by the project in four key governorates — Aden, Taiz, Hadramout, and Marib — with the aim of building a knowledge base that contributes to enhancing the capacity of local organizations to play an active leadership role in the humanitarian landscape. The workshops also seek to analyze the level of participation of local humanitarian actors and women-led organizations in coordination and decision-making mechanisms within the humanitarian system and to identify the barriers that limit such participation.
