About NMO

NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No 284. Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships. NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012, and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education and Child Protection, WASH and Health, Shelter and CCCM, and Governance and skill-building.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of monthly purchase plans and work hard to fulfill them
  • Receiving and managing purchase orders received by him, as well as all purchase orders within the limits of his work
  • Preparing offers and analyzing models for offers purchase orders, contracts and receipts required for the process of disbursing dues to suppliers and service providers
  • Participate in the analysis committees as a rapporteur and follow up the implementation of the process until the materials arrive in the required quality and quantity
  • Build and develop professional, impartial, and transparent relationships with suppliers
  • Respond to supplier inquiries in a fair and equal manner
  • Periodic survey of service prices according to the market, updating the price list and sharing it with stakeholders
  • Work to expand the list of suppliers in a way that enhances the principle of multiple opportunities, integrity, and competitive justice
  • Maintain confidentiality of specifications and quotations from suppliers
  • Supervising the movement of cars and preparing statements and monthly reports
  • Participated in the planning and implementation of training and awareness sessions on procurement procedures for staff in coordination with human resources
  • Archiving his documents according to the archiving system used in the organization
  • Follow occupational safety and security instructions while performing tasks
  • Preparing all required reports to support planning and decision-making processes
  • Active participation in the periodic meetings and get-togethers of the organization
  • Investing in opportunities and resources for self-learning and developing a network of professional relationships to raise specialized competence
  • Raising proposals and perceptions that would raise the level of performance in the organization and informing the concerned persons of any matters that may affect the integrity, impartiality, and reputation of the organization
  • Compliance with systems, procedures, principles, and institutional values ​​in the organization
  • Perform other duties as required by the direct supervisor and relevant to his job position

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • One year to two years experience in working with humanitarian organizations in the field of Logistics
  • Intermediate level in written and spoken English

Skills and Qualities

  • Knowledge of the laws regulating procurement and tenders in the Republic of Yemen
  • The ability to learn quickly and self-growth
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel independently to the targeted governorates when required
  • Strong task management skills including attention to detail to achieve timeliness and required quality
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solving and make decisions skills
  • High skills in coordination, communication, persuasion, and presentation
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Honest, hardworking, and committed to community development
  • Ability to submit work on time under intense deadlines
  • Must be able to submit documentation confirming ability to work legally
