Job Title: Solar Energy Specialist

Reporting to: Project Senior Officer

Sector: Food Security and livelihood

Location: Aden with frequent visits to the project site

Contract Duration:12 months

NMO is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 284. Our mission is to take the lead to empower communities in Yemen through humanitarian response and sustainable development programs in a professional way through effective partnerships. NMO started its activity in Yemen since 2012, and has been implementing projects in 5 sectors namely FSL, Education and child protection, WASH, Shelter, and Governance and skill-building.

NMO is looking for an efficient and qualified person to fill the position of Solar Energy Specialist to carry out the following tasks and responsibilities:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1- Adherence to the policies and procedures of Nahda Makers Organization. 

2- Prepare plans to implement activities and participate in the team in field coordination with stakeholders. 

3- Creating innovative methods in inventing methods of investing solar energy and using it in daily life. 

4- Preparing the necessary designs and drawings according to the specifications appropriate to the variables to achieve the goal of solar energy investment.

5- Searching for service providers for raw materials for numbers of solar power generation devices and equipment.

6- To review references and studies on projects to invest solar energy and use it in daily life, and to transfer experiences to the work team and train them on them.

7- Preparing periodic reports, archiving them and submitting them to the line official in the English language. 

8- Verify the quality of the materials and their compliance with the specifications. 

9- Act as a monitor for all solar energy activities and submit technical reports to improve efficiency, quality and performance. 

10- Ensure management / development of knowledge and provision of technical advice to relevant project stakeholders on solar energy applications. 

11- Review specifications and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes to achieve solar design goals. 

12- Developing design specifications and requirements for solar energy components in the use of household appliances using solar energy.

13- Provide advice to the project team on the methodology for implementing the project through reading and research studies and drawing the correct frameworks for project implementation. 

14- Providing advice or advice, technical consultations and suggestions to train the target population on how to produce solar energy investment devices. 

15- Participate in preparing plans for field and office needs of project implementation needs.

16- Executing any other tasks assigned to him by the direct supervisor or the department manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Qualifications: Bachelor in General such as (Engineering) or a comparable discipline.

Experience:

• At least two years' experience working as a Solar Energy Specialist in the field of livelihood activities or related fields.

• Familiar with fieldwork. 

• Experience with training materials and guidelines. 

• The ability to prepare reports in the English language.
